ORIGINS CANADA is the premier support group for reunion and for understanding the issues of mothers with disenfranchised grief, trauma, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
We at ORIGINS know that those who suffer mostly suffer in silence and in shame.
Many adopted persons grew up with not only the loss of parents, but also the pain of feeling “given away” or “unwanted”, their identities buried in government records. They may suffer from abandonment or other identity issues. Many want information and connection with their natural families.
OUR SUPPORT SERVICES OFFER A SAFE PLACE WHERE MOTHERS HAVE THE FREEDOM TO SPEAK AND BE HEARD IN A CONFIDENTIAL AND SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT AND WHERE ADOPTED PERSONS CAN FIND VALIDATION, INFORMATION, AND A PLACE TO EXPRESS THEIR FEELINGS.
ORIGINS is an international self-help and peer-support organization offering confidential support and information to those separated by adoption. We offer telephone support and information to mothers who have lost a child/children to adoption and provide a service to those who are isolated or prefer the anonymity of phone contact.
