Please note: If you are an adoptee, and your birth certificate states that you are born in Quebec, it is strongly recommended that you check the listings for other provinces as well, as well as other dates of birth within a month of your own. It is common to find amended birth certificates for adoptees that state incorrect dates and places of birth (True examples: birth place was listed on the birth certificate as Gaspe, Quebec, when the real place of birth was Halifax, Nova Scotia; child was born in early December but birth certificate states January 1st).

31 March 1953 |
I was born on March 31st, 1953 in Quebec City, but don't know at what hospital. My name at birth was J. Philippe Baudin. My adopted name is Stephen Carl Ryder. My Mother was 19, blue eyes, blond hair, 5 foot 5 inches and 125 pounds. I don't know her name. She worked as an Assistant Nurse. My mother came from a family of five children. My Father was 23, brown eyes, brown hair, 5 foot 9 inches and 160 pounds. I do not know my father's name either. My father worked as a Clerk in a Hotel. There is no mention of siblings for my father. I assume that my last name, Baudin, was either my father's or mother's. I have the name of either an Adoption Agency or an Orphanage. It is La Sauvegarde De L'Efance, Service Des Adoptions, 49, Rue D'Auteuil, Quebec. I am the father of four children and I think it is their right as well as mine to know my family medical history. rat8920@yahoo.com [added on 2007/02] |

4 February 1970 |
My wife was adopted from Montreal, Canada in 1971. She was born on February 4, 1970. We were told her name was Stephanie Giberson prior to being adopted. The story we were told, was that her mother was involved with a married man who was from the West Indies. If anyone knows of a family in the Montreal area missing a link in their chain, that should have been born on or about February 4, 1970. jt@mavinmanagement.com [added on 2007/07] |

I have found my mother already but who I was really looking for was my foster mother who cared for me for the first three years of my life. My name is Tracey (although I was known as baby Allison), I was born August 26, 1970 in Montreal. I was put in foster care at 5 days old and I was there for 3 months. I was their first foster child and she sent a beautiful card with me that had a picture of Mont Royal on the cover and she signed it simply "S". I would love to find her and thank her for taking such good care of me. Can you help? tcampbell@pei.eastlink.ca. [added on 2006/07] |
